Privacy Policy

At AndroidScroll, accessible from https://androidscroll.com, your privacy is a top priority. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. 1. Information We Collect

Comments

When visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymised string (hash) of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to check if you use it. After your comment is approved, your profile picture may appear publicly next to it.

Comments are delivered through our comments service, which runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes the comment data above on our behalf to store and display comments and to filter spam.

Contact Information

If you contact us via email or social media, we may receive your name, email address, and any other information you choose to share. This is used only to respond to your enquiry and is not stored beyond that purpose.

Newsletter & Email Marketing

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your name and email address. We use MailerLite to manage subscriptions. Your data is processed in accordance with MailerLite’s Privacy Policy.

We use this data strictly to send Android tips, site updates, and recommendations. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of any email.

2. Analytics

AndroidScroll uses Matomo, a self-hosted, open-source web analytics platform. Unlike cloud-based analytics services, Matomo runs entirely on our own server. Your data is never sent to, shared with, or accessible by any third party, including the makers of Matomo.

Matomo runs without cookies on this site. No analytics cookies are set on your device.

What we collect

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • The website or search engine that referred you
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Approximate geographic location (country and city level)

Your full IP address is not stored. It is anonymised immediately upon collection and cannot be used to identify you individually. Because tracking is cookieless, no persistent identifier is stored on your device.

Data retention

All analytics data is automatically and permanently deleted after 24 months.

Opt out

Since Matomo runs without cookies, no personal data is collected by default. If you still prefer not to be counted in our anonymised analytics at all, you can opt out using the check-box below. Your preference will be stored in your browser’s local storage and honoured on every visit.

You can also enable the “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting in your browser. This site honours it.

3. Advertising & Cookies

AndroidScroll participates in affiliate marketing programs including Amazon, Jumia, Konga, and others. When you click an affiliate link, our partners may set their own cookies to track the referral. If you make a purchase through one of these links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate relationships never influence our editorial content or recommendations.

Google AdSense

Google AdSense

Advertising on AndroidScroll is currently switched off, so Google sets no advertising cookies on this site at the moment. When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense may use cookies to show personalised ads based on your browsing history. You can review and manage your ad preferences at Google Ad Settings, or opt out of personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Separately, some articles carry a labelled sponsored slot from Anker. That slot is part of the page, not a third-party ad call.

Note: AndroidScroll does not use Google Analytics. The cookies above relate only to Google AdSense advertising.

4. Your Data Rights

Regardless of where you are located, you can:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent (e.g. newsletter)
  • Object to processing in certain circumstances

EU residents (GDPR): You have the rights listed above under the General Data Protection Regulation. Our analytics are cookieless and collect no personal data, so no consent is required for analytics. For other processing such as comments and newsletter, our lawful basis is either consent or legitimate interest as described above.

California residents (CCPA): You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal data collected about you, and request that we delete it.

Comment removal: Contact us to have your comment and associated data permanently deleted.

5. Third-Party Services

This policy covers only AndroidScroll and our own data practices. Third-party services referenced on this site including Google AdSense (when advertising is enabled), MailerLite, Amazon, Jumia, Konga, and Cloudflare operate under their own privacy policies. Cloudflare provides content delivery, bot protection, and the infrastructure behind our comments service, and processes technical data such as IP addresses to provide those services. We encourage you to review them.

Note: We do not use Google Analytics. Our analytics are entirely self-hosted and no data is shared with Google through our analytics setup.

6. Children’s Privacy

AndroidScroll does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the site does not constitute acceptance of changes. We recommend checking this page periodically.
