1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They help the website remember your actions and preferences over time, such as whether you have commented before, so you do not have to re-enter information each visit.
Cookies can be:
- First-party cookies: set directly by AndroidScroll on our own domain
- Third-party cookies: set by external services we use (e.g. advertisers)
- Session cookies: deleted automatically when you close your browser
- Persistent cookies: remain on your device until they expire or you delete them
2. Essential Storage
Some parts of this site remember your choices on your own device so the site works properly. This storage is required for those parts to function. Display choices you make on this site are saved in your browser so the site looks the same on your next visit.
Opt-out preference: if you opt out of analytics on our Privacy Policy page, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage. Security: our content delivery network, Cloudflare, may set security cookies that tell real visitors apart from automated abuse and exist only to keep the site reachable. This site does not run on WordPress, so there are no WordPress login, settings, or comment cookies here.
3. Analytics (Matomo — Cookieless)
AndroidScroll uses Matomo, a self-hosted analytics platform. Matomo runs without cookies on this site. No analytics cookies are set on your device.
We collect anonymised data about pages visited, traffic sources, device type, and approximate location. Your IP address is anonymised immediately and never stored in full. All analytics data stays on our own server and is never shared with any third party, including the makers of Matomo.
Data retention: All analytics data is permanently deleted after 24 months.
Opt out: Since no cookies are used, there is nothing to block. If you still prefer not to be counted in our analytics, you can use the opt-out option on our Privacy Policy page. Your preference is stored in your browser’s local storage, not a cookie.
4. Advertising Cookies (Google AdSense)
Advertising on AndroidScroll is currently switched off, so no advertising cookies are set at the moment. When advertising is enabled, ads served by Google AdSense may use cookies to show ads relevant to you, based on your previous visits to this site or other sites across the web.

You can manage your Google ad preferences at Google Ad Settings or opt out of personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
Separately from network advertising, some articles carry a labelled sponsored slot from Anker. That slot is part of the page, not a third-party ad call, and it sets no cookies of its own.
Note: AndroidScroll does not use Google Analytics. The cookies above relate only to Google AdSense advertising, when enabled.
5. Affiliate Tracking Cookies
When you click an affiliate link to a store such as Amazon, Jumia, or Konga, that store sets its own cookie to record that you arrived from AndroidScroll. This allows us to earn a small commission if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.
These cookies are set by the affiliate platforms directly, not by AndroidScroll. We do not receive or store any personal data from affiliate cookie tracking.

6. Email Tracking (MailerLite)
If you subscribe to our newsletter, MailerLite may use tracking pixels in emails to record whether you opened the email and which links you clicked. This helps us understand which content is useful to you.
This tracking only applies if you have subscribed to our newsletter. You can disable email tracking by turning off image loading in your email client, or by unsubscribing at any time.
There is currently no newsletter signup form on this site, so MailerLite sets nothing on your device when you browse.
7. How to Control Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions
You can also use browser extensions such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger to block third-party cookies selectively.
Please note: Blocking essential storage may prevent parts of AndroidScroll from functioning correctly. For example, the site may forget your display choices. Comment submission does not depend on cookies: comments run on our own comment service and only ask for the name, email, and message you type.

We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We recommend checking back periodically.
